We went to the tree lighting ceremony (which incidentally and awesomely was a 5 minute walk from home.) It was pouring rain and windy so we thought the kids wouldn't last 5 minutes. However, once we walked into the square and were quickly surrounded by the crowd, we were warm. As I looked around and saw how many neighbors and friends we had there, that was cheery, but we were also physically blocked from the wind and sharing body heat. lol.
Then we went inside for cocoa and desserts. We listened to music performances and Santa twirled Button around and danced sweetly with her. It was a happy family night.
It was so fun. Santa rode in on a fire truck and the mayor asked Beau to help her pull the lever to light the tree. (He shrunk back from her initially but she took his hand and put it on the lever and he couldn't deny it was cool.) Button saw Frosty from across the square and squealed his name and ran to him.
